Who this policy covers
Wyckoff News (this website, at wyckoffnews.com) is published and operated by Wyckoff News Media LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“Wyckoff News,” “we,” or “us”). This policy describes what information we collect when you use the site and how it’s used.
Newsletter signups
If you subscribe to the Wyckoff News newsletter, we collect your email address and store it with our email delivery provider, MailerLite, in order to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter email.
Comments and reader submissions
If you submit a comment, an Op-Ed, feedback, or an Ombudsman request, we collect the information you provide (which may include your name, email address, and message) along with your IP address, in order to review and respond to your submission and to prevent abuse. Email addresses submitted through these forms are not published and are not shared with third parties except as required to respond to your request.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns on the site (for example, which articles are most read). Google Analytics collects your IP address and sets cookies to distinguish visits over time; we use this only in aggregate and do not attempt to identify individual visitors. You can control this tracking using your browser’s privacy settings or a browser extension such as Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
Disclosure of information
We do not sell information collected through this site. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies to support basic functionality (such as remembering that you’ve dismissed the newsletter signup prompt) and, where enabled, analytics.
Data retention and requests
We retain the information described above for as long as needed for moderation, correction, and dispute-resolution purposes, unless you request earlier removal. If you would like your personal information removed or corrected, you may submit a request through the Ombudsman page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
